Mold Help Needed

Well I finally got my hooks and I'm pouring jigs. My collarless round head mold needed a little Dremell work. I had to extend the hook eye socket out a little so sickle hooks would fit right. It works perfectly now. On my Walleye Head mold the 1/8 oz cavity allows lead into the hook eye. I need to modify it to prevent that. Is there some type of clay that I could put just a dab between the jig head and the hook eye, then press a hook in there to make the cavity? Also I'd love to make the walleye heads collarless where I don't have to cut the collars off.

I have several molds I use different hooks than listed, so I get flash around the hook eye also. I just use my gate cutters or twist it off. I'm not goingto modify the mold for that in case I want to pour using the "right" hooks, or sell it. I'm sure others have fixed this issue, JB weld is used by some.

Thanks Bob, I think I remember reading somewhere there was some type of clay that could be used. It wouldn't be a permanent fix like the J B Weld. I'm scared I'd screw up with the J B Weld and the mold would be ruined.

I have read that modeling clay from Wally world works good, and can be removed easily with a toothpick when needed. I have not personally tried this, but have some buddies that said they used it with good results.

Thanks Heath, I'll give that a try before I use something like J B Weld that would be tough to remove after I screw up.
