I've read an article before from In-Fisherman that stated he bought a bunch of custom hair jigs at a show.  That article was one of the driving forces behind my start in jig-tying.

Here's a nice video about what he does:

I noticed he put a piece of rubber worm on the jig to flair the synthetic hair out.  Maybe we should send him a Wool jig with craft hair and satin?

A lot of people gave up on hair jigs for years, but us smart ones never did and just kept using them. Watch how many folks are going to start wanting to find them now!!

I don't know about "Top Secret," but probably a lot of regular bassers that certainly overlook this old bait. Hair jigs were about all there was before the advent of living rubber, and then later, silicone. Still my number one bait from about mid November until early April here in Indiana. All my custom jigs come from Pup :) Like Fatman said, the smart guys have been throwing them all along. Caught a dozen and a half this weekend on hair in water that still had ice clinging to the backs of bays....but don't tell anyone.

I am very glad that you are getting out and catching the bass, especially if they are being caught on jigs I've tied. ;)

Let me know if you need more or are interested in any of the others I've tied lately.  It might be good to get back to tying some hair jigs.  Lately, I've been doing a 'Gapen-styled' thing by tying leather-donned bottom walkers and leeches that remind me of Ugly Bugs.
