The holiday crush has started so I am gonna take this free moment to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope that you enjoy yourselves with family and friends.
I just started the bbq pit and have lined up in a neat row, 6 briskets, 10 pork butts and 4 turkeys, all thawed and seasoned and waiting for the grill. We have family coming in from all over the US and even a few nephews and nieces: (marine) coming home from South Africa, (Air Force) coming in from Delaware, (Navy) discharged and coming home from Mississippi.
Two families are involved and although some celebrations will be private, we have a party building available where everyone will be meeting, congregating and eating. The party building is a 6000 sf building set up with 2 fireplaces, 2 big screen TV, several sofas and a bunch of recliners plenty of tables and chairs even a few sleeper sofas. Its gonna be a hectic couple of days but I know I'll be grinning big time.
My Christmas eve will be hauling food from here to the party building, delivering a few gifts. I figure that by 8pm, I'll be sitting in front of the fire place, glass of egg nog at hand and and playing Santa for the nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and 2 third generation nieces (27 total at last count and 2 more on the way).
So Merry Christmas All and enjoy this time with family and friends.
