Been super busy the last few days and have been on here only maybe once or twice. Along with all that garbage called 'yard work' and other things, i DID decide to take back my shed though!!!! With no garage, my 10'x12' shed holds EVERYTHING. This includes the 4 kayaks for the family, bicycles, rider mower, push mower, weed-eater, tiller, garden tools, chairs, fishing garb, camping garb, blow up pools, toys and other various junk - the inventory would be large. I pretty much can't get in the door and things are stacked in like a Tetris puzzle!

So i decided to make some room. :D I know it is not a big construction project, but pretty proud of this one. haha! I am winging it on my own with the plans all up in my head - and i am definetley NOT A CARPENTER - more so a hillbilly engineer. Once this is done with the walls and roof complete and yaks moved out, i might actually be able to set up a chair in my shed and relax while my wife paints it - and she already volunteered that part!!!!! But then again.... i might have to pull the yak on the bottom out and go fishing.

Allrighty, pounding nails is satisfying, no? Now you can move on to shelving the shed walls and creating attic storage. You can always fish next year.

While you are at it,just make a shorter one right connecting to that one and cover them up at the same time. Then you will have a little more room for your addictions, lol.

I forgot to post back on here..... the yak storage is complete! OK, actually did finish it last weekend and it is actually painted now to match the original shed - and yes i DID sneak out and fish for an hour or so while my wife did the painting!!! Still need to add on an extra latch at the bottom (hence the log) to keep the doors shut right but it turned out pretty good i think. :)

Radtexan - I got the yaks out of the old shed but still haven't cleaned it out yet. I think it got worse with additional scrap lumber and tools from the new build! haha. Probably be my project for this weekend. :sleepy:

Hawn - Oh yeah, love to pound nails and watch it all come together. Satisfaction AND pride!!! But i am still learning in this field..... tried to keep even numbers, a 4'x12' addition and i ended up (somehow) making it 4' and one half inch x 12' and one half inch! So one extra trip to the hardware store for some extra sheeting and all was good. I saved about 1K just on labor alone from the estimates of a 'new' shed - which makes me happy! :)

I think you should add another one on the other side and make it big enough so that you put your pouring station inside. Some Insulation and a small space heater in the winter and you'd have a great place to escape to in the winter to pour. BUT, if you do make sure IT stays your space LOL

Roof rake in the winter will take care of any heavy snow.
