I need to vent, apologies if this post is offensive or sounds like the ramblings of a sanctimonious self-righteous fool.
How I treat others in business:
1. No bum steers.
2. No secrets.
3. No exaggeration.
4. No self-promotion.
5. Courtesy of an answer.
6. Timeliness

Really lucky to have grown up in HI with excellent role models. Locals used to tell me that mainland people are different. And how glad some who lived there were to be back home. Not putting you all down, just venting about a few...

Seems to me there are good and bad apples in every lot.... Doesn't matter if you are a mainlander or an islander. Take each person or business individually for what they are worth. We have all been burned by someone in our lives... Live and learn. If it sounds too good to be true.... It probably is.

That last one gives me trouble. I am one slow son-of-a-gun. My mind is such a cluster bomb i easily get too many sticks in the fire and loose focus too. Then throw in a week of beautiful weather and it gets worse..... cause i'm goin fishin! I could most likely NEVER run a full scale biz.

..........i did have to look up Bum Steer.

Means to provide information that is not correct, was not found helpful, or caused one to be led astray. It does not imply either intentional or unintentional provision of information, and is not generally regarded as pejorative.
The "steer" in the idiom is not originally related to the bovines. Its origin is suggested to be derived from the American maritime humour of trying to steer a vessel in reverse where its stern construction, in the 19th century, lacked the streamlines of the bow, and is therefore prone to miscalculated manoeuvring when using the rudder.

OK, more venting.

Trade with member took over 6 months to receive my end and quality was not as agreed on.

Got an inquiry on my website for an under $16 per lb bismuth supplier. Replied best I know of is RotoMetals at then $21.49 - no reply. Well, should have figgered the party had a $16 source and asked, cuz just found out on my own that Hallmark Metals will sell at $16 for a 35# block. Think the inquirer could have shared their source after asking for mine.

I dunno, am I living in lala land expecting to be treated like I treat others?

Yes......... yes you are! If you are just rolling the dice, you are on the wrong end of the craps table. There are no doubt good people still left out there but the ones that just don't care far out number the others.
