Found some big BGs today and finally landed some that have been breaking off or I've dropped. Extremely frustrating - drop two more today!
These are relatively deep (~44 FOW) and it is not an early morning bite....

Man those are some giants . Worth the search in deep water.
(note -- saw a fishing buddy from down appalachicola way the other day and he brought up the subject of deep water ... if it was deeper than sticking a 6 ' rod in the water to check the depth -- it is deep water down that way)

Wish I would have stayed that day! Can't imagine having 4 BGs close to 2lbs each. Waiting for my buddy Big Jim to come out and show me how to hang on to them.
JJ - that's a hybrid female, something is going on. Extremely tough fight - hard to hang on to.

Very good catch. Do you ever use spoons for deep water gills. Just bought a couple a small ones to try this winter.

I am jealous!!!!!! Can you catch them like that in February out near San Diego? I go every other year for a decoy competition in February

Ronnie - no spoons, yet. Been messing with some I need to try.
moswampy - You want to do something in Feb - Lake Havasu. Got ginormous Redear and big northern BGs & hybrids. Slower here in Feb, but with the new draw down, who knows.
