Got to fish a couple of hours today with Noel. Big jim told me that they were catching 10.5" BGs and REs plus they got a big green carp. So had to give it a try this morning.
It was like Big Jim said but we were getting a lot of 9"+ fish.

Got one 17lb CC on 2lb test with a 1/32 auto tipped with a cricket.

Nice going Sonny, those channel cats look like fun. I just need a week of warm weather like this to be able to get on the water again but looks like rain for next thurs or fri.

How do the big Perris cats taste? Last one I ate from NE supposed to be best eating size 3# tasted a bit off.

Your boat and the water conditions look too comfortable. Are the fish within casting distance from shore?

And, how long was the fight?

Thnx Bruce – was using some XXX isorline, started using it last season.
This was at the tire reef Anthony. Last year Fabi got a 9lb14oz and Noel got ~24lb at the same spot all on 2lb test.

Thnx Mel, qk, JSC, Fm, SHRBRO951, jj1, and SH

Hj – Noel’s family really enjoys the Channels.
It took ~26minutes to land. Had to chase it with a trolling motor. You can’t land these from shore, there is planted structure all around this area. This fish took me into the structure 3 Xs and wrapped our marker line once. Noel, net man, was on the remote with the trolling motor – wouldn’t have landed it without his assistance.

Jerry, the big Bluegill & Redear are just starting.

LP - Cast, countdown and retrieve. The CCs like the red headed auto.

Spoke too soon Rt - we got a cold front with rain this week. Gives the fish time to get bigger..

I'd rather be catching BG & RE frank. Them CCs slime the line and eat up the bait.

DC - gonna do a tutorial on it soon. This pattern is a real fish slayer!

Scott - anytime you want go for it let me know. I would really like to learn some of your trolling secrets! We got big Crappie too - but hardly anybody targets them.... Think Jungle is gonna be out here around the end of may.
