My wife surprised me with this when she walked in today! This is the real deal here! I'm sure Adam can tell ya about the line that forms in front of this place. Any of y'all yankees even had a wannabe king cake?

I have never heard of a king cake. Eating a plastic baby does sound rather gross, though.

Kind of reminds me of the giant kringles the local shops in Seattle sell around the holidays. We're talking a 24" Danish made of a dough strip filed with icing and raisins, folded over and shaped like a pretzel, then doused with sticky glaze and crusted sugar. They make you gain weight just looking at them, but they're so gooood.

Yup - i'd eat that! Maybe the box too, if there was enough frosting on it. What is the filling... other than plastic babies?

Oh, and how'd i get thrown under the bus on this one anyway? :dodgy:

HA gross? You aren't spose to eat the baby. If you get the piece that has the baby in it you are suppose to buy the next king cake. King cakes actually derived from Christian faith from long ago.

It's basically the best cinnamon roll u ever ate. They do have a distinct flavor to them. This one is just a regular cinnamon one but nowadays they make a bunch of flavored ones.

Pup there's nuttin like a true LA Poboy on gambino bread! My all time favorite was a fried oyster poboy topped with fried green tomatoes and remoulade sauce.

Talk of the poboys is getting me hungry!
Too bad I Cldnt taste it with this flu :(

I m not much into king cakes or anything sweet for that matter BUT if I did have to have one that'd be the place I'd get it from. Although Helianthus makes a pretty good homemade one.
