Loading chenille on a bobbin

I've read about this. Finally got an empty thread spool, a spare bobbin, and jig order big enough to warrant doing it. Hardly any waste!

I've played with doing that before but don't like how it crush's the fibers down. Like to find some with really big barrels so it didn't crush em down. I posted a pic of this bobbin in the Leds thread about them - don't know what kind it is but love to find a bunch with the big barrels.

Doug the Renzetti material bobbin has a large diameter double flared brass tube .

I actually found a chenille bobbin on ebay a year or so ago. It has about an 1/8 of an inch opening. I rarely use it other than for braid of a fine tinsel. But they do make them.
