Sounds like fun - have never been around anyone either to see how they tie and be able to ask questions. Watched an enormous amout of YouTube vids and browsed an even larger number of step-by-step instructions..... but just can't stop them and ask them 'Why did ya do that???'

Have fun!

Been to fly tying class's but not jig tying. Closest big box store is Gander Mountain over in NY - 2 hour drive to get to the ferry landing and a 20 minute ride across. Hope you have fun!!!!!!!!!

It was a good time! Only 4 of us showed up, but it was pretty cool to watch some other people's styles. It was even better putting a batch of jigs into a kids hand, after he watched us with his dad!! Hopefully another one is hooked!! The smile on that little boys face was worth the drive!
And if you believe it.... I went into Cabelas... And did not spend a dime!!!!
Lmao!!

I'd love to go to one of those shows! The local fly tying shop holds classes, but they start at like $50 a class! No thanks....

The De. flyfishing club holds tying classes on Saturdays in Jan and I think Feb that anyone can go to. Good bunch of guys. I donate tails and some hackle to them to teach the youg ones. All free.
