Teamed up an 8 ft 3 wt flyrod with a Wally Marshall Solo reel. THe whole out weighs under 7oz.

Took it out for a test run yesterday. Everything feels good on it. Was having great fun until something large snapped my 4 # leader. Drag on reel worked perfect but I suspect line had a defect in it. These little reels run under 20 and make for a fantastic vertical jigging setup.

Sounds like you got a good lite setup. Hate to hear the leader broke before you could get it in.
