Geesh! I wish I could get a penny for every minnow sold! Would even settle for a penny for every nightcrawler sold.

Very good & I agree with him Completley .. Haveing been a "Jobber salesman' in the Fishing tackle business for many years before retiring and haveing taken a shot at doing some mfg in my early years .. (bagley was the first to copy my shrimp tail jig and made a better design of it.. bagley might copy but all ways made it better) I have had many people to take a shot at it asking me things and I pretty well told them what Lee said (only he said it a lot better) When Lee departed from Bagley we distibuted some of his lures .. that is when I met him .. nice guy.
Glad to see this article and would suggest any one who thinks they can do it "Big Time" to read it .. they may have second thoughts .. Sure for the many that try only a very small percentage suceed and you have to try to do so.

Great comments Kdog , JSC, and JM. :)

From the article, I find this to be interesting.

If the inventor's lure idea is credible, a lure company has probably been working on something similar. If the lure company introduces that lure one day, the inventor is always convinced that he showed the company his idea and the lure company stole it. Troublesome lawsuits can follow.

This allows a lure company to cheat too, so to speak. How's anyone to know whether their 'introduction' is original or not? They could still bring a copy to market 'after the fact'. :dodgy:

Certainly, they have the resources to bring product to market quickly and the legal resources to keep competition at bay.
