I'll stick to the teasers for saltwater. My "Spearing" was a hit, bigtime.Had to at least have another one in case they were not spearing hungry. So,I went with a sand eel.5/0 Mustad hook, sewing thread wrapped with olive and tan bucktail and chartruese pearl flash.Measures 5 1/2 inches to it's longest point.

6 to 8 inches above your jig.I like to keep the colors close so it looks like a little school of the tender morsels, lol. But if a bluefish nabs it,it is GONE !!

Thanks guys.I really do love tying these.I don't know anything about all that hackle palmering and dubbing, but when you tie these things on they catch fish. And they are so darned fun to make.

Here's my newest teaser thanks to Attica's post.THree down and many more to go.I was going to wait to tye more until I caught something, but, you know how that goes.lol.They've got eyes now. What do you think about the hook point being down like the one in this pic ? The rest that I did have the point standing UP.

Here they are ready to fish. The hook point setting is really baffling me.Someone please tell me the correct way.I think that a fish coming up from the bottom to nab it would get hooked easier with it pointed up.All the teasers and decievers that you see for sale have the hook point pointed down.???????

Those look really good . If you tie enough of those you'll get calluses on your thumb and index finger from pinching the hair and the thread rubbing across the fingers .

I have noticed with the flounder that if the hook point is down they steal the bait that I tipped it with. When the hook point was pointed up they got hooked.Mabe it's just the flounders, maybe not ??
