I know the idea has been bandied about a bit in the past and seems like there is some interest.

I am talking about a Raw No Ball Head Jig Head swap. I see a lot of custom heads or off the wall head designs that I would love to get my hands on. One Jig Head is just a teaser IMO so what I am thinking is bags of 1 dozen heads.

Swap would be like any other swap. Send to host with preposted return mailer. Host would then distribute and mail. Details along the lines of

Limit to 1/8 ounce or less jigs,

Sign up to include Jig size so postage can be properly estimated.

If there are enough participants, small flat rate box may be necessary. If that is the case, the host would need to do some extra work and would need some cash 6.00 per participant to cover the USPS charges.

identify jig mold source.

bag 12 jigs/bag

one bag for each of the participants plus 1 additional for JC

Thus if there are 15 participants, you would send 16 dozen jigs and would receive 15 dozen jigs

Let me know what you think. If there is enough interest and no one is willing to host, I would be glad to host as I am tired of buying jig molds just to try a different style.

Kdog- The following is my opinion and its an opinion only. You could run a non-official swap like I did with ice lures. I would think you might want to limit participants to maybe six or so. Not too many guys want to pour more than a gross of jigs.

By limiting the amount of participants to six or so 72 jigs is not too bad to cast in one sitting. With a large number of participants duplicates or so close it hardly matters would be hard to avoid also.

Might want to vote on each participants submission. If everyone in the swap had a xx jig. They probably would not want something they could cast themselves in the swap.

Just speaking for myself and not trying to pour cold water on your idea. Matter of fact I would be interested but not if it meant I had to cast 15 dozen of one jig.

Others may like the more the merrier routine and think I am all wet. who knows ?

papaperch, I thought about the vote on participation idea but not sure I want to exclude anyone as far as limiting participants, not too sure. I usually cast a couple hundred jigs in a session but will agree, if you have a single cavity mold it will get boring fast. Early this year I cast 400 1/32 ounce jigs with a 4/0 sickle hook. Not wanting to mess with my pro mold or my collins mold, I used a lil mac but could only use 1 cavity due to hook size. It really became a chore. OTOH 15 dozen special jigs heads may be worthwhile. Food for thought!

You wouldn't have to pour them all at once if didn't want to. I'm sure you'd be given enough time to pour them over a few days.
