Anyone got a DanVise lyin around collecting dust? I'm wanting to upgrade from the AA I got with my starter kit and I'm needing to stay under $100. Any ideas?

Went from AA copy, to actual Thompson A, to a Dyna-King Kingfisher. Haven't gone to a rotary yet!!! If you could kick another 50 or so you could get the Peak! Few of the guys here are using them

You can still find some good deals on ebay. Had Jungle Jim pick me up a Price vise and a Thompson 360 for ~$50! Very sweet deal.

If you are going to use the rotary vise - buy one. I am die hard Regal, but they aren't under $100.

I think they are good vises, and I know you wont have to pay sales tax. Sounds like a good price....

Don't think I would buy one from overseas. Suppose you got it and it had a problem. Ebay would make you ship it back to the seller, which would eat up any savings over just buying one here. Could you still get warranty service if it breaks down the line? They use a different distributor in Europe, and you may have to make any warranty claims through the European distributor.

If you check the ebay completed listings, there are few that were located in NA and have sold in the past few months. I'd recommend waiting for another one to come along.

I ordered a Peak from BPS today. Got an email offering 6 months interest free/no payments plus $5 shipping. I figured I could swing the $29 a month for 6. Maybe it'll be here by the weekend.

I'm AMAZED at how ROCK SOLID it is on that pedestal base. You see I tied my first jig using it and I pulled thread & chenille as tight in all directions as I would've using my AA clamp vise and it never budged. I'm impressed! :icon14: :icon14:

Nice!!!!!! - for you guys that have them and have the add on handle - is the handle worth the extra money???
I'd like to know that too. It was already suggested I get the "D" handle. I don't even know what it is. Looked on Youtube and nothing there either.

I would suggest moving the shaft to the center hole and get you a D-arm, it brings out the full rotary potential of your vise... I also added the riser to mine cause im tall...

I just wanted to throw this out there, I don't know how I did without this Peak vise! It's truly a great tool!
