What a crumby day.Freezing cold, wind blowing us across the lake at about 20 knots, water looked like chocolate milk, fishing commision guy made us get out our liscenses, only because we were the only ones brave enough to go,lol.Anyway, caught two crappie on a minnow off the bottom. My brother in law got skunked, probably because he was busy trying to keep the boat straight, sucks to be the driver on a day like that.I could'nt handle it anymore and had to leave before my desert blood killed me.Here's what we were looking at.Too cold for me to take a picture of two 8" crappie.

It is ALWAYS colder when the fish aren't biting. If you would have come home with a bucketfull, you would have said it was cold - but a beautiful day over all. ;) Ditto on BLT's comment..... rather freeze and skunk out than work.

Looks like the water is low.... seems like i can see lots of bare bank on the other side. Would expect the water level to be higher if it was all muddied up from the last storm that went through or are they drawing down the lake for over winter? Did you try fishing up any creek bays if there are any - there might be some warmer water there from run-off.

Hey,I did'nt get skunked, lol.I got two dinks. They have the lake ready for the winter ice.Pulling water out of it big time.Docks were all pulled out and the ramp that we were at was the only one opened out of four.It was at the opposite end of the lake and I did'nt want to go 10 miles in a 14' boat with a 1970 Johnson 9.5 outboard, lol.

See that bridge in picture. I been all over that puppy with my 997C Humminbird. Probably crappie be hugging them pillars at first primary break-line. I always love to fish bridges not all of them are good. But a lot of them do hold nice schools, esspecially real early spring and real late fall.

Yup I woulda been on that like a buzzard on a gut wagon.

That's funny papa,I caught my two crappies right under it,lol. They were on the bottom hitting my minnow on the top hook with a small bank sinker on the bottom. My jig rod with a double jig rig was thrown at every pillar with no results.
The snowy pics were 5 miles away.We went through it on the top of 7 Mountains then at the lake was clear, then back through it on the way down.Decided to take the pics while driving home.
