I've been working on the slabs at Okatibbee Reservoir lately. While everyone else is fishing the shallows during the spawn, I've been catching good spawning crappie along the submerged creek channel off of stumps. 90 percent of my fish have been caught on these two color jigs. Sorry for the pic quality, used my iPhone.

Nice jigs and fish. I don't like fighting the shallow water crowds either Scott! I usually stay on the staging flats.

I'm headed for an area like that if this weather will break . I'll be using the same basic colors and afew test plastics.

Thanks guys, it's been a fun season so far. I'm selling lots of jigs locally and my quality control dept., (me), has been busy trying them out. LOL Like they say, "it's a rough job."

Adam; I usually spider rig with 8 12' poles. I use a 1/4 oz egg sinker about a foot above my jig.

Perfect KISS ties without unnecessary bling. Paint jobs look flawless with no rough spot up front.

So hot colors are the ticket now - would dark or natural colors work at other times?

Hawnjigs- Thanks for the compliment. I hate the rough bumps on my heads too. I ususally file the rough spots before I paint them. I'm sure the natural colors work at times but I usually stick with bright colors. Winter and spring are my times for jigging, then I'll be trolling crankbaits for crappie.

sloedown-My wife took the pic of me and the two fish. She didn't give me enough time to suck my gut in. LOL

Scott, there is no such thing as a "gut".
It's just a good roof For the tool shed.

I think I need to acquire a file so maybe my fish will get bigger!
