I don't know much about the actual legislative process - is this "interview" taking place in the assembled body of the H of Rs? If so is the applause from other legislators or from a public audience?
From the outside looking in, my general observation is that our Fed "lawmakers" are mostly a bunch of posers putting on a show of public service while pursuing private agendas.

Keith you better hope that they are doing there jobs when it comes to the IRS. If they don't get this under control then the IRS will be the new Gestapo and every administration will use them as a political tool. No one will be safe NO ONE. Not even you!!!!!!!!!! They will break YOU and take every thing that YOU have and YOU will be living out on the street poor and penniless.
This was a Ways and Means committee hearing about the abuse of the IRS has inflected on the people of the United States of America. More especially the Tea Party and those of a conservative viewpoint. Keeping them out of the political process for 2 years and more importantly the last Presidential Election. Pitiful very pitiful.

I'm too small to fail, so no IRS worries. I've observed that power ALWAYS corrupts from the asst. manager at a grocery store all the way to the top. And irresistible "human nature" compels us to treat others based on personal like-dislike choices.
Pitiful indeed that our downward spiral into a culture where greed and lies are rewarded appears unstoppable. Jeff Daniels was a wake up call.

All the add on pork barrel spending every year shows that!!! Pass a law that says no lobbying!!! and they MIGHT!!!! MAYBE MIGHT!!!! get something done that makes sense.
