well I was running low on pill heads so I decided to make some from ballheads.

Here's my tools

1/16th oz ball heads

Useing the underside of the pliers - hook eye up - line it up and squeeze

Now turn the jig Hook and put the hook eye down and squeeze just enough to even it out

And the finished pillheads!!!!

I did find out one thing doing these don't squeeze too hard. You can crack the lead open instead of just flattening it out.

That is why I use a press so I don't crack the lead. Try making some that are off set I find that they have a interesting action and the fish seem to be more attracted to them. May be like a injured bait fish???

I also do this but with a different method, holding the hook by the bend and laying the head on a 1/2" steel plate, I tap on one side with a small hammer, then turn it over and tap a little on the other side, by making small taps and checking between them you can control the progress of the flattened head.

Here is a method I used. It may give you a little more control by adjusting the vise grips. I used a small pair here, but by using a larger size, more pressure could be put on the lead head..
Easy eyes

I was interested in how small of a head you could flatten!!
These are 1/80 and 1/100 heads with #10 hooks. Very interesting.

Thanks Rad!!

Old Fox that's a great idea but I'm gonna try it with the pliers, don't have the tools to grind em down.

Len squeeze too hard with those small ones, and you might just split the lead right off the hook!!!! LOL
