Cut a zonker strip and tied two chinchilla coque saddles around some antique white chenille to produce this jig. It weighs 1/4 of an ounce and has a 1/0 hook.

The tool in the foreground is a seam ripper. It's useful for cutting your own zonker strips from rabbit pieces and whole pelts.

It looks very cool Pup.But the dang fish would be trying to crap it out before it got hooked.I'm just wondering what your hook up ratio is to a good bite and a hooked fish with them long things.

SB,

Thanks for your comment.

Yes, some of my jigs are pretty long. But, there are reasons for my designs. Maybe this article will shed a little light on my thinking. It's not my article, but I do think that way.

Article

I spent many years fishing for largemouth bass with soft plastic worms from 6 to 10 inches in length. These lengths have carried over to my jig making. No doubt about it. ;)

Very good article pup.I enjoyed reading it,even though I've had enough bass fishing and tournaments to last the rest of my life, lol.I get your reasoning on the baits though.I can see that softball sized mouth just sucking that bait right in.Good luck.
