Had a couple ask,and its not from lack of effort...As I posted last spring,my only local lake and creek got hit with golden alge in
March,,,right as my spring fishing was going into peak...Ive made the hike down to the creek three times in the last few weeks and Nada,,,not even a thump.Looks like the kill was even worse than we first thought.

My only other winter spot without driving 170 miles is hurting bad...Its still a 65 mile trip each way,and yesterday was my 3 rd in as many weeks..

2 years ago the barge and a couple slips we fish during the winter months were in 14 ' and had a great couple seasons...Last year the water was 7-8,,,not as good, but still kept a supply on the table and even a few limits here and there...

Little different story this year. Here's what 3 years of drought will do to a reservoir.

That sucks!!!!! Wish we could send you guys the snow melt we've had so far this year. That's gonna be a full time job cleaning that pontoon up if it isn't damaged too bad.

Is the inside of the 'barge' setup exclusively for fishing? Looks like it has lights pointing down into the water. When (if?) the water does come back up, guessing there is going to be a lot of new brush growing now that will be submerged - that could make the fish have a lot of new comfortable territory and remain tough finding numbers.

I'd be taking photo's of rock humps, any stake beds anyone sent out and mark it on a map and hopefully be ready when water comes back.

Oh boy...are there any prospects of relief ?

Best I could find was references to a weak El Nino this year, & possibly slightly above average snowfall in the UT-CO Rocky Mountains.

Russ it is a dedicated fishing barge (or was).............During the good winter's it can be elbow to elbow in there..

The only problem with that Doug is as far as I know my crew and i are the only ones that build and place them... I have 34 spots with a little over 100 individual condo's....Lots of PVC tree's,,,many stake beds, lots of christmas trees in buckets...

Well I tried!!!LOL Has Texas ever considered building some of the de-salinization plants and then pumping the water into these lakes or for irrigation of crops, whatever!!!????

Hate to see the lakes in the shape. We have the same problems but with the rains we have had lately the lake is starting to look a little better. Hope y'all get some lake filling rains this spring.. That is a great looking PVC structure and I know they work very well.

Under this bridge is the ramp I use when their is water... Have to drive another 5 miles down the lake to find a useable ramp and it isn't look in great either.
