Well first yeah I'm a Yankee but don't hold it against me. And Second the damned Enviro Freaks got them listed in the song bird category and they are illegal to hunt. There is a group about 20 miles from me that is getting a petition together trying to get it it changed.

So that's why I've never had them!!!! It's not my fault!!!!

Doug I use to feel the same way till I moved down south. Now I have a good patch of it growing in my garden. A old colored woman showed me a new way to cook it Next year I will grow twice as much. This year we pickled it, Stewed it with tomatoes, Fried it. Put it in Gumbo, Baked it with zucchini. I can make a meal out of it by it self. The dove is good just didn't go out this year as the wife has been having some health issues again. The Duck men have been blowing holes in the sky the last few days with the early Teal season opening. Waiting for the crappies to start to bite but we need cold weather to get the shad to move into the river. Then the real fun will begin.
