Cool place, I look forward to reading and posting here. Started tying mostly jigs a year ago for float n fly fishing at Dale Hollow. I make and sell a few here and there, but mostly ty for fun.
Working my way into flies, I tarpon fish with a fly in Costa Rica twice a year and my first fly for my May trip is going to be the Dan Blanton Whistler Flash Tail "pink". Just got my hook is yesterday.
FnF starts for me Dec 12th I'm primed, tied, and ready to go.

Welcome from IN. I've read that Dale Hollow smallmouth bass fishing during winter is about as good as it gets. Long spinning rods and leaders... may be preparation for fly fishing.

I tied a couple of Blanton's Whistlers earlier this fall for muskies, but may cast them in the river for smallmouth bass. Here's the link if you're interested.

I've fished Costa Rica twice (Pacific side) - you are very lucky. Got a friend that has a ranch in Quepos and house in San Jose. Need to get back down there.
