Been a visitor to the site for a while now. Tried tying jigs, still trying to tie jigs never had one come out as good as you people post in pictures. One of these days I might make something a crappie or something will bite.

Welcome to the site. I have always dreamed of living in Minnesota as I love to ice fish. When I was about two years from retiring I started to look at homes there. Wife asked you thinking of going there on vacation. No to live I replied. She said she hoped my new wife would be happy up there.

I love the cold weather . My wife obviously does not. Since its cheaper to keep her will have to settle for what I get in Ohio.

Any way join a jig swap to really get your feet wet. It will accelerate your skills no doubt. And remember one thing all of us on here were at one time a beginner. You will find out this bunch on here are the most helpful crowd and share their expertise freely.

Hola from SoCal. You will find a lot of help here all you need to do is ask. Once you get the hang of it there's no stopping. Check out local fly tying shops or clubs and see if any are offering fly tying classes.

Welcome from the Mojave Desert CA. I am glad I am not up there with you in the cold. I am a flatlander from sunny Southern California.
You have landed in a great place with lots of help if needed doing what the JIGCRAFT folks do, make neat lures.
Enjoy'

Welcome to the site. Kinda envy your hard water walleye, but do not envy your temperature extremes. I spent several months in International Falls (Oct thru April) in the early 80's and no one can convince me that you get used to it.

I looked into buying a place in Ely MN once. Then the grand-babies came and the wife said no way. I have a several fishing buddies throughout the state. Fished the Crow Wing lakes as a kid with my Grand Parents. I'd still move in a heart beat to Ely, I love the BWCA and Quetico. Welcome, from a recent newbie myself.

Welcome from the nation's Capital.

And you can take this icy winter weather we're having back to MN. We've had enough of it.
