Got these barred zonker's in today's mail.

I'm hoping to get the crosscut zonker's in tomorrow or Thursday. Then we'll see what happens.

Doug, I got those from Crazy Angler. $1.95 for approx. 3'. He carries the Barred & Solid Zonker's but no Crosscut Zonker's. I ordered them from J. Stockard Fly Fishing @ approx. 3' for $2.45. I did some swapping when I bought my starter kit from CA and had a Shad Gray zonker in the box. This was my 1st bunny tie...

Like the cross cuts for jigs but if you keep pulling the hair back you can do it with a regular strips just takes a bit longer.

Nice tie!!

You can make some really cool combinations using different colored zonkers and crosscuts on the same jig. I wanted to make a baby perch imitation for bass, so I tied the top jig. I liked the results so much, I tied the bottom one smaller for crappie.

Tie in your thread, then poke the hook point through the leather on the zonker strip. Tie down the strip, then attach your flash. Fold the strip back and palmer your crosscut strip, leaving some space near the head. Then pull the hair on the crosscut down and lay the zonker strip over the back. Tie down the zonker, advance the thread to just behind the head. Palmer the zonker strip for two or three turns and tie off.

I'm going to tie some with the Crawdad Orange, Chartreuse & Olive combination of crosscut & regular as soon as my crosscut gets here. I think the Palestine crappie will like them.
