In Michigan for the grand daughters birthday and went to Cabela's for only my second time. Had a basket full and the only thing the wife said was how much do you think is in there, I thought $125 but it was only $106. She didn't complain at all just said we only get here once a year and paid for it.

I'll post some pics when I get back to Vermont.

Wow, I'm headed to FT Myers FL BPS tomorrow, any chance your wife could speak with mine so I don't have to pay for mine?
Even still, I think Cabela's is a way better store.

You're on your own with the wife buddy!!!!!LOL The $106 was just my fishing stuff - total bill was over $200 - bought a new Garmin GPS with lifetime updates for traveling, have one I bought used a few years ago and a one time update is $50, plus it was on sale.

Nice! You have some good materials to tie with.

They have a lot of eye candy in the store that just opened here but their prices are crazy, only been there two times and I'll pick BPS over them. Never thought I would say that but I really looked forward to their fly tying section, man was I disappointed with the store. Only have a small section and only one of each so once it is sold you wait on the next shipment. LOL I can order it faster than they can get it in.

The craft fur I got a bunch for Christmas last year but the price was really good on it so picked it up, and I really like the variety packs - I can cut straight zonks and cross-cuts - Hardly touched the 3 bags I bought last year but these ones had some different colors and I only get there once a year.

I've only been to the Cabelas - Dundee, MI store but their tying section is really nice. The BPS I stopped at in Auburn, NY last year the Fly Tying/Rod Section left a lot to be desired. More rods and reels, waders an video's than tying stuff and Cabelas prices were better. Maybe it's the individual stores but I'm not sure as I've only been in one of each.

You can't go wrong with the rabbit pieces for zonkers.
I'm fortunate enough to have all three Cabela's, BPS and an Orvis store. By far Orvis is the most expensive and very little stock as it is more of a clothing store, but they do have a few items that Cabela's and BPS don't have.
I have to agree, in Louisville, Cabela's beats BPS on prices and probably in fly tying stock supplies. I also like the online ordering and free shipping to the store.

Yeah Q - love the hide pieces. Got three bags of them last year and these three have some different colors. I did a whole bunch of cross-cuts from one of the first bags and it hardly looks like I touched it. For $5 a bag it's a really good deal.

Nice pile-o-stuff. Hard for me to get out of there under a hundred dollars. Love the rabbit scrap bags also.

You passed about 20 minutes North of my house going down the turnpike through Ohio. The Dundee store is the closest Cabelas for me as well and make road trips up there occasionally. Just under a 2 hour drive for me. The kids love walking through the aquarium and around all the mounted animals. Keep in mind on your next rip that way............ you were less than 5 minutes away from the Jann's Netcraft showroom when you drove through Toledo! They have a really nice store and very helpful employees. ;)
