Hackle Spinning ??Ants

Can one of you guys show me how to spin some kind of feather around them little ants that I got?I have no idea how to do it and have a 100 to do,lol.I know they have that little segented body,so,I know where it goes.That's all I know though.

Check out my tube jig hackle tutorial. Pretty much the same except don't lay the hackle back before tying off.

Same with me Salty, I have some smaller thread on order. That saltwater stuff fills them up to fast lol.

With the small thread there's plenty of room, looks like you'll only need 1 or 2 turns of hackle then tie off. Sparse is better on ants. You'll find out quick you can't yank down hard with the little thread LOL

Do you use the tip of the feather and tie it down,wrap it around like palmering a marabou feather.Or,do you only use one side of the feather and palmer it??

Salty some strip all the barbs off one side but I can't see wasting it. Go to this video and when it starts go to 2:43 it will show the tying in and wrapping of hackle.

"Or,do you only use one side of the feather and palmer it??" - you can do that also with soft hackle (folding it over).
