These were made using clear plastic shot over a hackle feather placed in a 2'' swim bait mold.

Thanks for the comments. No they are injection you can lay the feather in and contain it completly inside the mold or you can just lay it between the halves giving it fins. A little tricky I put my molds in smooth jaw vices that squeezes the feather and dosen't give you flash around the lure. feathers are way more resilient than you might think. They can withstand over 380 degrees before showing ill effects.

Well the only mold I could use was my 4 1/2 inch Sick Shad jerk bait. I will have to water test it because the feather is placed along the horizontal plane due to the mold design. I think it will be more suited as a swim bait with the feather due to the joint design. Rather then heat up a new batch of clear I used my Sly Shad color I was pouring with.
