Crappiejgr - Sweet! Weather has been so back and forth i don't even know when i should be out yet. They usually don't pop up here till mid-april but have heard a few reports of people finding them in Central OH.... everything is out of wack this year.

RD - never had Morels??? Sautee with a deer back strap - lots of butter, salt/pepper and nothing else! - and there is possibly nothing better. Other than feesh.

Those are the only wild shrooms i will pick and eat myself. They are pretty easy to identify but there is one NON-edible that is close.

Dang Quint We have no mushrooms here is this part of Texas that I am comfortable picking. No Morels or Grays. A few puffballs but are not my favorite. No Elephant ears and I have done some hunting. This Time of year is hard because the Copperheads come out and don't want to come into contact with them critters. That is why RonDon didn't know what you guys were talking about because we don't have them in this part of the country.
