Got up early and picked up my nephew and we had a great few hours at the pond!!! Some nice Largemouths, trout and a bunch of perch and sunfish. Jigs and spinners were the ticket.

By 830 it was starting to get hot and we were getting hungry. Went home cleaned up had some breakfast at the cafe and went to the flea market.

Guy had LOTS of tackle and while I was looking he commented how he just couldn't understand why it wasn't selling. Asked him if he really wanted to know and he did told him there was no way people were gonna pay the ridiculous prices he had on the stuff.

He had cards of 12 1/32oz jig heads with a tube tail $8 a card. I told him go to Walmart and you could buy a 20 pk of jig heads and a pack of tube bodies and still have money left from 8 bucks.

The only thing I bought all day was an 8Gig Ipod which I checked to make sure it worked - my nephew had his Ipad with him and we plugged it in and everything worked. Offered him $10 bucks and he took it so that was my good deal for the first flea market. Lots of the normal dealers weren't there.

You did not find any lead at the flea market? I found lead when I went to a flea market brought 2.9lbs of lead, some pewter, and a cast iron corn stick pan.

my dad goes to a big flea market religiously every weekend, I think 95% of his rods and reels came from there. lol one day he gave me a baitcast reel, looked nice, and I found out it only reeled line in if you reeled the handle backwards, he says hey I only paid a couple bucks for it. lol I laughed so much my sides hurt.

Doug it sounds like y'all had a good day together. You should see the flea market we have in Anderson. Not sure you could walk it in one day and be able to look at all the stuff...Some junk and a lot of over priced junk but you can find some good buys.

You never know about the flea markets. Some folks are looking for suckers but sometimes you get lucky. Good to see you catching some fish.
