What do you guys use to glue on your 3D eyes? I've been top coating the eyes with Hard As Nails, but I still have some that come off while fishing. I tried super glue and after I glued my fingers together a couple of times, I quit that. Lol

Thanks

I stick them on using the adhesive on the back of the eye, then clear coat them by dipping in nail polish top coat.

I've use everything from pipe cement to elmers . Nothing is really satisfactory. If super glue gets on the eye it clouds it . If you want it to stay the longest Devcon 2 ton epoxy is the way to go . Mix only what you need to use . It can be thinned with acetone .

Triple Thick Gloss Glaze works well as a flex coat (i.e. not an epoxy). It will keep your eyes from coming off in the jig box and will stand up to rocks for a little while. It's as good as, if not better than, two-part epoxy for making your colors "pop". It is not as durable as epoxy imo.
  • Dries quickly, but it's best left to dry overnight.
  • No mixing of any resin and hardener.
  • Brushable product is non-toxic with little odor.
Just dip your jig head into the bottle, shake off excess, and then stick into a block of foam.

I tried an applicator like that but the tip always gets clogged.
Suggestions?

Cldn't track down paint man, Quint. Just gon send you what I have left so you don't have to wait. Will track it when it goes out so I don't have another Bruce incident.

I like Zap-A-Gap (The one marked Medium CA+, what ever that means). Doesn't run like normal superglue so no stuck fingers.
Easy to put a dot of the glue on the head, and it then spreads to the edges as you push the eye down.
Doesn't cloud.
And really like how it will fill in tiny gaps between head and eye when using oversize eyes on heads without eye sockets.
No epoxy mixing needed.
Highly recommend. Eyes survive evil toothed and trap jawed salty creatures.
Also a couple of overcoats of SH.
