It will be the first time I'm gonna try it - does silver glitter show up better in white or pearl colored powder??? I was planning on adding some clear then the glitter and doing some heads in that and also some lead spinner bodies as I'm trying to copy a lure for my nephew.

Thanks

I think white. My pearl powder didn't work well with glitters but it was a few years old. Fresh batch might have had a different outcome.

Silver glitter.... is it a silver hologram color? The silver holo glitter i have does not show up all that well on either white or pearl. Peal actually has alot of the holo color reflection in it already, just smaller grain. Not sure if you have it but Netcraft sells a chart glitter/clear mix that i think shows up better on white/pearl - has more of a contrast.

Is it a powder that is already mixed with the glitter and clear or do you have glitter you are going to add to clear? I know some people will mix in the glitter/clear/color all in one batch and paint with one coat... just make sure you have the mix just right before you make a large batch of the mix. Can't seperate it once it is mixed. ;) I actually prefer to put on a thin base color and then top coat with the glitter/clear coat. Takes more time this way but i think i can control how much glitter goes on each head a little better.

Just plain silver glitter. The pearl and white are the stuff I got from Hunter in the powder deal. I had thought it would have been easier to mix them all together then coat at one time. Remember I'm the newbie with mixing stuff I use small amounts to test before I commit to big batch's!!!!!! LOL

Thanks for the info

Well I tried glitter in the Pearl and it kind of turned it silvery grey and hardly showed at all in the white - not gonna worry about it right now but the spinner bodies came out nice!!!!!!

I mixed glitter with a clear topcoat. I dipped my heads in my base color first then into the clear with the glitter. The glitter showed up good on my white and black heads.

Yeah I think I'm gonna have to reheat and do clear with the glitter - I'm trying to match a body for my nephew and the glitter has to show so I'm gonna have to do another mix. I'm not gonna make much and I'll just dip in the jar real quick then cure them up.

Thanks gang

Well I can't get the picture to show it but I took your suggestions and loaded the clear with glitter and redipped and it came out the way I wanted it, actually I might even put more in it to show even better. Thanks for the help and as soon as i get the copy cat spinners done I'll post them.

Russ and a few others do a real nice job with a clear /glitter topcoat, but I guarantee FM once you get the hang of mixing a little bit of the color you want in the mix,and only dipping once, you'll never go back...

Not an exact recipe but a 5 part clear/one part color/ with more glitter than you might expect will give ya some good results...As said before mix small batches at first and then expand once you find what you like..

Rad

I'm still getting used to it but I can see where the clear saves alot of powder, and thanks for the ratio that's more of a mix ratio than I had before.

Scott as soon as I get em done up I'll post em!!
