Well, I have a good supply of firewood lined up for this winter...but I also want to try something new to me...burning wood pellets as a back up for my firewood...
So I researched Pellet Baskets..For Fireplaces...seems they are almost non existent...So...I had one custom made to fit inside of my fireplace from a model I seen..that had a price tag of $300.00 on it..!!
Talked to my maintenance man, who is also a welder..and gave him the dimensions...and this is what he came up with...professionally made and it is ever heavy..!!..And ..only charged me $50.00..!!...
I can't afford to install a new Pellet Stove, so I will use this as an alternative to burning firewood...been stockpiling wood pellets..found the cheapest place to find them is Tractor Supply...

That does look well put together - nice score.

I need something like that to throw in the sled and take out on the ice. :D

Those holes look a little big in the basket . Have you dropped some pellets in to see if they stay or sift through . If you ever do get a pellet stove . Be sure you get the best possible surge protector . Mine is sitting dead in the living room now from a storm with heavy lightning that passed . Knocked out the brain and fried the wiring harness . Bout 600 bucks to fix it .

That looks nice. The guy gave you a great price. I'm guessing that this will set over burning coals so the pellets will then burn.

Sweet and a very good price. I have 3 to 4 cords of wood that need to be split up and that is what I plan to do in the afternoon after I get back from a morning of fishing. Yes it is getting colder. And we will need our wood stoves very shortly. 48 here last night and I put on the sweatshirt this morning first thing. Dogs are enjoying the weather so it has got to be getting to be fall.

Put up the shrink wrap on the windows this morning, changed all the filters on the furnace, and got the quilt ready to hang in front of the back double door to keep the cold out, between that and the plastic it works pretty good. Wish my landlord would let me put in a pellet stove!!!
