For all you salty water guys

I have a friend that fly fishes for redfish, that wants me to make him some flies. what hook sizes do you reccomend, and what materials/patterns should i use?

I'd use a nickle or duratin hook 3/0-4/0 . Spinner bait hook will work .
Clouser style using buck tail with a red hackle bleeder down the side .
BLu/wht , gray/wht, fl yell/wht
That will put you in the ball park .

thanks guys, he said any mullet or shrimp imitations will work good. looks like i have to make a trip to wally world for some hooks

not sure what size he prefers. I figure a clouser will be definitely good for redfish and specs.

Don't forget to add a little gold flash in there. Some of that brackish water calls for a bit of gold/gold flash. Happy fishing.
