I've been working on one of my favorites over the last few days. I like tying either six or 12 of each so I don't have to worry about losing a few to snags. The collars are palmer chenille in the small size. Most of the heads are 1/24 and 1/32 pillheads but there are some chubs as well.

JJJ, you know that your FlashDuck's have always been one of my all time favorite jigs since the first time I seen it. The palmered chenile is nice but I think the HOTT PINK collar is off the chart.

That is a cool idea, and a fish catcher for sure... It would be nice to see a how to on those, but I can understand a fellow keeping those to oneself!!! :icon14: :icon14:

I started using some 1/64 shad dart flash ducks last year about this time, and they have become a staple in my jig box! Bright pink heads are my favorite. Those olive and orange ones you posted are NICE!

Jigman,I did a couple tutorials on the ducks that you can find in the recipe section. I've made changes to my originals since then with the palmer chenille but they all work. There isn't much action with these baits but the fish really like them. Maybe those duck feathers taste like chicken.

JJim yes these are super. Started to tie them several months ago. I didn't know that you were using Palmer Chenille. I have been using regular hackle. I still think that with crystal flash and regular hackle they are a Super Jig. Hats Off to you sir.

I found the tutorials on this site after I figured out how to tie them. My first few attempts were a site for sore eyes. I scraped them and finally got them right. I will be trading them to my Iowa friends. Am sure they will use them for Ice fishing. I got some Gadwall flank that I will be using to tie a bunch up with. I think that they look the best on a 1/16 or 1/10 oz. heads in a #6 sickle. That is just me.

I really like those jigs and heads going to order a pill head mold soon . I had a friend of mine check out Jig Craft . Got a foot long email back . To make a long story short . He said that in all the world the talent on this site could stand up to any competition unless it came from heaven . Personally I know he was right excluding myself.

Rad take quivira kid up on his offer. The gadwall's make a awesome jig. Like it even better than the mallard flanks.

A friend of mine who owns a spincaster liked the pillheads so much that he had a 1/32 and 1/24 silicone mold made and ordered a 1/16 that hasn't arrived yet. Prices for 100 counts are going to be reasonable. I'm going to buy from him and only use my molds when I want to add a crane swivel. Most of the ducks I tie are mallard or a combination with gadwall and mallard.I save the woodies for special occasions.
