Remember watching videos a bit back on how to liven up krinkled flash n twisted n matted chenille. Of course I can't find em when I need em..... Reminds me of market buoys on windy days… or better yet. An anchor.
If y'all know what I'm talkin bout and can help, I'd appreciate it.

Have in the past mixed flash strands in with chenille like this.......... tie on your end of chenille and before you start wrapping it on the shank, also tie in several strands of flash. Then just roll the two together with first finger and thumb. I use it to put flash in with black mostly - takes more flash than you would think though to show up.

As for flattened chenille, just tie it on and before you wrap it on the shank roll it between your fingers same way as i mentioned just with out the flash. The tighter the chenille gets twisted, the fibers will stand out better. Just make sure you twist it the correct way so you do not unravel the chenille. Makes for a quick fix right as you are tying. Very helpful for some of the long cactus style chenille.

Tea kettle would work, another option would be to take the flash, lay on ironing board, cover with damp hand towel, and iron over towel. The damp towel should keep it from burning and transfer enough heat and steam to straighten it out. If don't have a iron handy, can heat up a baking sheet/pan/dish in oven and put on top of towel too. Of course, this isn't from video you were looking for though.
