These are 1/16 pillheads with hackle tails and palmer chenille wrapped over the chenille bodies. First pic has something new that I tried today called AB CRYSTAL 4MM RHINESTONES. These reflect light in all directions and seem to change color,depending on the color of paint used. I was looking for a cheaper alternative to the 3-d eyes and this might be it. I found them on ebay for $4.98,free shipping for a 720 count pack. One pack will make a lot of jigs and other sizes are available as well. I used super glue to glue these in place. Those are sweet! I think the eyes look good. The price of 3D eyes has me looking also.

On days when my blind naturals are slow those candy jigs could be a ticket. On this type of garish attractor jig, the rhinestones might be superior to natural eyes. Very appealing color co-ordination.

JJ1, they look fantastic, that palmer chenille is another product I have to get now!!! I really really like those and those rhinestone eyes look great as well and may be beter than 3D eyes, great find!!

I just picked up some rainbow 3mm stones and this color in 3mm. 1440 count for a Little over $5 per pack with free shipping. That's almost three for a penny. They are easy to glue in place if the jigs have a recessed eye. Gonna try some on the walleye jig mold soon.

Jim I'll have to check out ebay for those. Do you see any problems of just a flat side to the jig head for mounting those???

Fm, I think they'll work on flat sided jigs but are much easier with a recessed eye jig. The recessed eye holds the drop of superglue in place and you don't have to worry about eye placement with those.

Ya know if you get to thinking about it the eyes of most bugs are sort of faceted . Just take a look at the head of a horse fly . Bet a black football head with eyes on the ends would look swell too . Love good work especially when you think outside the box .
