I picked these up at Cabelas yesterday and tied two after installing the eyes last night. These are the large size olive meant for 1-2/0 fly hooks but since I didn't have any that size I used a couple 30 degree swim jig hooks. The helmets weigh about 1/11 oz and finished these weigh over 1/8 oz so a fly guy wouldn't want to throw these on a 4-5 wt., more like an 8wt. So is it a fly or jig??? The hooks I used were 2/0's in two different styles. Tails are krystal flash, silicone rubber and cape or saddle hackle. Body crosscut bunny. You put the helmet on after you tie the "fly". A little superglue on the threads, slide the head into place, then tie in the thread head, another drop of superglue and you are finished.View attachment 8View attachment 9View attachment 1

Jim - Thanks for the report!! Great looking jigs!!!! I've seen them but didn't know if they were worth spending the cash on. On a 5 wt. fly rod the largest jig I'll use is a 1/32nd, and only until I started trading jig heads did I get any smaller.

I have some 1/32 and 1/16 Charlie Brewer slider heads somewhere and I think they might fit inside and add some weight. They should make a good balance with medium spinning gear. Check Cabelas and see which one's are on sale. Prices for these are a little high everywhere but half price at Cabelas isn't too bad. I wish I had gotten the brown,I have a lot more options with a brown color. They sell finished bunny zonkers using these for $6 a pop.

The company on the sculpin heads is the same company that has the crayfish cutouts I posted about. Wish they sold them straight out.

Jim, you know it would dance like crazy in a good creek or river! I think it would be worth the work if you had the right piece of water to fish it.
