Yeah learning it by hand can be a pain but once you learn it, you'll wonder why you waited so long. Don't get me wrong there's times and places for a whip finish tool but I use the hand whip style more and more, well when they let me go back to playing with sharp things again LOL. Now here's a challenge for ya - start making your hand whip finish so it doesn't even look like it's been done!!!!!!LOL

The question of eyes has been going on for longer than I've probably been around and still will be long after - I have some of both and it was 50-50 split on catch ratio

I know,I know, lol.I don't think that the fish can see my whip finish as well as we do here with a pic on a picture screen.I'm good enough there.I'm going to get down to the eye thing as soon as I catch a couple of flounder with an eyed jig,I'm going to be a fool and cut it off and go to one without eyes and see what happens.Stayed tuned for my test run in a couple of weeks. If I catch 50 with and 50 without, then we will have to do a test on which ones are bigger, lol.Sounds like a very fun test experiment.

Nice looking jig. I have stopped putting eyes on the jig I'm going to fish with because I can't tell a difference in the catch with or without. Eyes will give them a look that the fishermen likes along with me too. It's that "shinny" thing I guess!

Hey Fatman,do you think these fish are sitting at the bottom of the bodies of water that we fish critiquing our jigs ?lol.Sometimes I really think they do and the loser of the bet has to take a bite and see whom is right.Ha,Ha,Ha

All the pics look like lures w/o the fish. Beautiful work and sure the finishing knot will hold.
You and I think alike. I wAnt to be artistic but it always becomes the back-burner to fishing.
Id like to buy all the goodies thatll catch a fishermans eye twice but you can catch a fish on next to nothing when they're feeding and most of the time there afterwards But I'd be interested in hearing some more of your flounder techniques. It's hard to beat baked flounder OR fried at that.

The next pics will be the lures and the fish, lol.I'm done tying now until I get to fish a few of them. Most of our flounder fishing is just drifting with a jig just big enough to hold bottom. When you catch them they feel like giants, lol.

I was afraid you would get seriously infected first time I talked to you . Now that you are, keep on making those killer jigs. I haven't been to the man cave in 5 days . Seriously bad withdrawals coming on . So hot 50,000 btu air conditioner can"t cool 244 sq. ft. with one lead pot running . Maybe if I get me some depends and fill them with Ice I could hold out long enough to make some lures.

People can't believe that I think that this weather here in Pa. is cool,Ha.I'm used to burning my arms on an aluminum boat at 8:00 am there in Arizona.Heck,my brother in law was laughing last weekend when we did our night fishing trip and I had to put a long sleeved shirt and a hooded sweatshirt on.70 degrees is 35 degrees colder then I'm used to,lol.
