My nephew wanted some fire tiger spinners so I had to get the bodies painted up. Need to trim the ends where the wire came out but they'll be ready to form up

I like the look of those Fatman, but you know what would add to them? Black dots!! I got some of those quick coat lure markers, what is nice about them is they use actual paint instead of ink, they aren't a sharpie. I like the fact that they come with 6 different tips so you can make dots or thick lines, thin lines, pretty much what ever. I say that because it is easy to put dots and strips on something like those lure bodies with them and the fact they are real paint makes it last a lot longer than the sharpie.

SJ - thanks. I thought about it but don't know how long they'd stay on the cured powder paint. I have some new brush's now for powder tapping so I think they'll come out better, these ones I did with cheap Walmart brush's. Member on the board here sent me a set of tools for making eyes using powder I may try that to do the dots on any new ones.

If you look close there's some black glitter showing in the orange, but not enough.

Fatman, here is a pic of a spinnerbait I did by spraying powder paint. Once I sprayed the powder I took the quick coat black paint marker and made the small stripes you see on the spinnerbait head. Once I made the stripes I then cured the head and it came out just like I put them on so the heat didn't affect it at all and it is permanent. The back of the spinnerbait is painted with sprayed black powder and the only thing is the stripes but it blended in perfectly with no seams so it does work on powder both before and after it is cured.

Yep, they are CS paint markers!! I know I sound like an advertisement for them but I'm not, it is just that I've been using them for like 3 or 4 years and looking at the lures you make and the paint jobs, I really think these will be a benefit as it will let you add little accents like black dots. You get the marker out of the pack and shake it like a rattle can as it is paint, it even has the rattle...lol. Once you shake it a bit you put one of the six tip in and press it down on a piece of card board or something. It is valve activated and once you hold it down for a few seconds you'll see the tip, which is like felt, become sturated and then it is ready to use. It sounds like a pain but it really isn't for what they can do for you plus it is paint, not ink. I sometimes put strips on a lure that I may want sort of light and translucent and for those I keep a paper towel handy and after I draw the stripes I dab the stripes until they get light enough for what I want. A lot of ways to use them!

Advertisement nothing!!!!!!! That's one of the great things about the board is that you find out what stuff is good before you shell out your hard earned dollars.

Thanks again for all the info!!!!!

Good tip SJ. That information will help. I use paint markers a good bit but have never tried to bake the jig after the paint was applied. Awesome spinner!
