That color is a good representation of green pumpkin and the jig itself is just an incredible tie, I love your thought process on your jigs!!!!!!!!!! I think you have a winner for bass, and if you're near smallies well just hold on to the rod, they will clobber that one!!!

Thank you for your comments Everyone. :) Not sure if it can be seen by all clearly, but I tied in some orange UNI-Floss as an added attraction behind the saddle hackles. Probably will make little difference to a bass, but who knows? ;)

Thanks Macon1. I plan on fishing this jig over a gravel bottom in my nearby reservoir towards the end of March. This jig weighs about 1/8 of an ounce. I could, ever so slowly, drag it along the bottom in several well-known areas with little fear of hanging up. Also, a hop-and-pause or a jerk-jerk and pause retrieve (both with a tight line on pause) would be appropriate in the area I'd be fishing. My choice would depend on feeding activity and whether or not the bass are hitting suspending jerkbaits. :D ;)

I've had some luck on a slow retrieve as well......occasionally lifting slowly about a foot or so, then at the top of the lift, tremering the bait just once by gripping the rod handle suddenly, but not violently, harder......not trying trying to move the rod tip purposely. As you may also know, sometimes just the slow lift will trigger. All in all, yours looks like a killer jig!
