Favorite Pie!

I'm finishing my Holiday Feast as I write this.
Started my varoius meats around Midnight, Put my turkeys in a while ago and about 45 minutes from now, I get to unload the smoker/grill. Put everything in my car and head off to the family gathering.

Anyhow, the wife has been baking almost non stop for the last 3 days and during my activities thru the night I was looking at all of her preparations.

Wow. I'm glad we take everything out of here otherwise I would be in a sugar induced coma. This brought about an idea for a survey. So here goes, what is your favorite pie. I'm sure I missed one or two but these are what the wife has in the pie safe. (read as pantry shelf) and I ran out of room.

My favorite which I do not get very often is Cherry. Im not talking about the slop from canned pie filling, I'm talking real cherries and lots of them.

I voted for apple. But a very specific apple. My maternal grandmother Olive Price made the best apple pie in the world. Since her passing I haven't eaten anything close in taste. Her recipe was a unique blend of sweet and tart wrapped in the tenderest crust you can imagine. Her apple dumplings were the same way. Since her passing I gave up on the dumplings because made by anyone else is just a disappointment.

Apple - Pumpkin - Pecan and some others .. mostly pies.
Got 2 pcs Pumpkin waiting on me now .. will have to wait until tomorrow .. to full to eat now ..

There is no such thing as bad pie. I love them all, but my favorite is Blueberry.

Strawberry Rhubarb that grandma used to make. I like them all though, bad if you are a diabetic. No pie at all this year for the first time ever.

I like mincemeat, peach and most berry pies as well. Limited to 10 items and I used the ten different pies my wife had lined up. I was proud of myself, could not choose so I had 3 small pieces and they all fit on a dessert plate at the same time. I even skipped the whipped cream and ice cream toppings

Not a fan of sugar treats, but if I had to pick, pecan.

Would rather have a bowl of potatoe chips (the old style with transfat!) or pretzels. I'm fortunate enough to live close to the Amish & get the best of both.
