Yes indeed...... in a twisted sort of fate, the Easter bunny ended up in the Easter egg dye.
Or at least some hide that was purchased from Pat Catan's (craft store) a while back. The fact that you can get a package of the egg dye for pretty cheap (and marked down very soon) i plan to get some boxes and use it specifically to attempt this again. Also will be making a trip back to the craft store to get another full hide.
The cup on the left made the eggs a light Robin egg blue. The cup on the right made a darker blue/purple color egg. Was hoping for something reasonably close to those colors with the rabbit fur. Of course it did not turn out quite how i hoped it would, but it never does on a first attempt, right? Well, here is the results............

The hide took on the color great, the actually hair, not so much. I washed them out really well last night before going to bed, so assuming the color that is there will stay put. Funny thing is the purple color turned the hair pink. Not really sure why. I had them in the dye for a couple hours and this was just a room temp, so most likely have better results with hot water.
JungleJim - They are drying out still. I figure they will be stiff when they dry since my bass rabbit jigs do the same thing. It usually takes a little working of the skin and they are soft again. Probably rub the hide edge over an edge of something and loosen it up. I will let you know once they completely dry.
