Tied up about half of these tonight, got some head cement on all of 'em, now they're drying! After tying with it more, I really like the looks of kip.

CH, I find it way easier to work with than marabou! After tying some with hackle and kiptail, I'm hard pressed to bust out the 'bou for myself any more. I have used kip for my smaller Clouser minnow flies, and the crappie LOVE those!

Kip tail is crinklier than buck tail . It is a little stiffer . But it spreads around collars smoothly when you go to tie it . Sand bass like it too as well as crappie . I prefer it over buck tail for sprig jigs especially . Hey Kid do some of my old style jigs I I used to call mosquitoe jigs . Same head thread body kip tail . Taper the thread and build it up like a minnow body . Use a little less tail cause you want it to represent a tail fin . Then clear coat from tail to head . Take them fishing . They will never come apart and wacky as it seems the fish like them. I like those heads and the ties are nice and compact not leaving gaps in between wraps. I took a lot of business in the day away from guys that tried to skimp on the chenille and hair.
