LedHead.. Sorry, I think we were bidding against each other on that one. I left it at an automatic I think $8.00. Then decided I was not interested unless my auto bid won.

Try to get to it Jay
Kd- It was $7.30 + shipping. Glad more people don't bid on the vintage stuff. Got a lot of older molds that are in the custom class - majority are Aments.

I got my very first mold off eBay a couple weeks ago. Paid $8.30 to my door for this Lil Mac Midget 1/16oz Ball Head, No Barb, 3 position mold.

IDK anything about anything where molds are concerned but when I had Squeaky's Lee pot, I made quite a few jigs with it & it seemed to do fine. No cleanup to speak of after waste is cut off. Bidding on a 1/8oz Shad Dart now. BTW, ordered my Lee Pro IV last Friday.

Pepop, welcome to the wunnerful world of casting AKA, tender fingers, occasional yelps from a furnace drip, and a whole pile of inexpensive jigs!

Check the threads for the handles I have several of those molds some are 1/4-20 and some are 5/16-18. For Handles, I buy a length of all thread in the appropriate size and cut 2 pieces 9" long. To insulate the handles, I use 3/4" Wooden dowels with a hole drilled thru the center.
* I usually cut in 1" long pieces and drill the holes thru them because I cant seem to drill the 5"-6" piece that I desire for my handle length,
* I then counter bore 2 of them ~3/8 deep x 1/2 dia .
*Then, I thread a nut and flat washer down the threaded rod to the an inch or so from the mold.
* Then slide a stack of the drilled dowels over to make my handle to the desired length, last dowel piece is counterbored so the nut will fit inside. Very important as that nut will get uncomfortably hot.
* Thread nut so end of rod is flush I usually loc-tite the nut but that is not really necessary.
* Tighten first nut against washer to tighten handle.

Took longer to type than to do.

You can also use fuel line hose but I dont like the smell on my hands after a casting session.

BTW buy your hooks by the thousand, Nothing more frustrating than starting a casting session and running out of hooks. and 100 will go fast in that 3 cavity mold.

Have fun!

Cool handle assembly Kd.

That guy has been selling a lot of Lil macs ~2 month or 3 months now. At that price you might want to pick up a couple more Pepop. You can always have some to mod...

Thnx SH RD
