Out of jig heads, had to do something to keep tying. Matuka style crosscut rabbit strip. I can already see myself dubbing ( pun intended ) it the DRM or even the Double D RM.

Rabbit Matuka's are another pattern that translates well to jigs. I like the red accent up on the heads.... wonder if adding a red 'tag' accent below zonker right at the hook bend might add twice the attraction?

Kind of hard to tell in he photo, but you might want to put a tiny hole in the zonker right where you plan to tie it to the back of the shank and actually run the hook through it. I think it helps keep everything centered and lighter weight ties will run more true if the zonker is not off to one side of the hook. Getting nit picky though, smallies would tear those up when they are schooling up minnows.

Never thought of red tag at bend. Might just have to try it. I didn't hook through strip because the cross cut would be hard to get/keep centered. I chose crosscut due to the larger profile it makes, and because it was just scrap laying on the bench. Been using cross cut where normally patterns call for straight, and conversely using staight where cross cut is normally used. If you palmer straight cut and slightly overlap hide you get really full body and action.

It will most definitely be transferred to a jig head, I just have so many fly/streamer hooks and dumbells it makes for a good experiment platform. Tying everything "upside down" is different and needs different considerations per each material used. Plus they will be good for fly only waters
