Hi,

I like a mix of hare wool, fluorescent craft fur and sparse flash for most of my jigs. Problem was that one filling of my small coffee mill only got me material for 1-3 jigs. I needed to scale up for my weekly streamer brush production.
I often heard of blenders, but then again they were said to cut the material. I got myself one and - it cut the material, it was much finer when it came out. Dissatisfied with the result, I gave it a second thought and covered the blades with shrink tube. Now it works just fine :icon14:

That's pretty sweet idea. I have a small food processor I was planning on blending some dubbing with. Here is a quick link/video on another method of "blending" big batches of dubbing. Air Compressor Dubbing . I haven't really needed to blend this much dubbing yet, but this might be right up your alley.

Wouldn´t have thought that a compressor alone would work that nicely, without any blade or so. Not gonna buy one though, as I have no other purpose for it.

That air compressor is something I'm going to try. I use a coffee grinder to mix my dubbing with short blast. I don't turn it on for over one or two seconds at a time.

OK guys I tried making some dubbing using my air compressor. I cut up a few colors of yarn around 1/2'' or shorter. I started using a plastic coffee can but with the air and yarn and plastic there was to much static made so I changed to a glass container. Worked very well and a little made a lot of dubbing. Some of the pieces that were cut to long didn't separate but it was only a few so shorter cuttings work better with mixing with the air. Here are a few pics.

Stump- those blends look every bit as good as a coffee grinder's. It looks like I'll have to borrow my dads compressor after all...
