Well here it is a couple of days before Issac is to hit the area. I have been busy getting the generator ready. Making sure that every thing is tied down and won't blow away if the wind really picks up.

Don't be Alarmed if I am off for a while as we live way out in the country and if the power goes out it sometimes is a day or four before we get it back. One of the perks of living so far out in the woods. Fear not I have enough gas to keep the Icebox and freezers going for over a week. We cook with propane and the tank is as full as they can make it. We have charged up all the batteries and have both a crank up radio and a Crystal set ready to go. Those of us that live close to the Gulf coast know the drill.

Already the outer rain bands are starting to appear. Have had a very few light shower go thur here first rain in a while. The wind is starting to blow steady out of the northeast so it is telling us that it is coming. The rest of you take care and we will keep in touch the best I can.

Hey RM ... I know you need the rain and this thing is really a little more than a depression ... we have really missed the rain been east & west of us .... Good thing if the electric goes off my Never Used Generator is needing some tune up .. I got it to run right off the bat but now will only run a couple of seconds.. fuel problem ... When I get it going I will set me up a schedule to run it every so often. ... When we have the elect to go off it has taken as long as 2 weeks to get it back ... last time was 5 days.. (I'm speaking of when the storms of any size knocking it out) .. I am on a little "side line" and it goes thru wet spot and they hate to work on it ... Good Luck ...

Redman - You and the family stay safe!!!!!!!! and you too JSC and everyone else. I wouldn't wish a storm like this on anyone but, looking at the track it's going to hook up and to the east - wish it would hook the other way and give you and all the midwest folks some much needed rain!!!!!!.

We'll be thinking of you all!!!!!!!!!

Redman looks like you will luckily be on the west side of it. Eastern side is always the strongest. Looks like the center will pass a little West of here. Yippee

Redman - Sounds like you should be good to ride out the storm. Best of luck to you!

Ronny - Hopefully it all slows up by the time the center makes it up to you. Did you ever get that Pecan tree cut down? I am SURE you listened and did as you were told by the boss.

I got talked into waiting until winter and giving it a major cutback! Im not worried about the younger pecans in the front yard but Im expecting damage from the two in the back. Winds only about 30mph here now but it hasnt even started. Already had one limb decide it didnt want to be part of the tree any more!

I hope those trees stand up and that you do not have a tornado come by out of that storm ... wet ground and those Pecan trees like to come out of the ground ... Several years back after one of the storms .. on my first trip through my territory after it .,. I was amazed at how many Pecan trees bit the dust ... A lot of other kind but not as many as the Pecan .. we had a lot of rain before hand and that makes it easy for the blow over of trees with some sustained winds.

Good Luck
