Your friend call you and says the walleye bite is ON. Tells you the wallies are feeding heavily on young of the year perch. He has confirmed this by examining the stomach contents of his catch.

He invites you to go along tomorrow. Be honest now. Would you be more likely to pack some lures like the pic example ? Or would you figure any old lure is going to work just as good.

My personal experience over the years I have been fishing. Is sometimes it matters a great deal. Then there are other times that it seems no matter what hits they water they bite it. Unfortunately those days are exceedingly rare. That is why I try and weight the issue as much as I can towards my favor.

x2 with Jig Man. Color does make a difference in the jigs and water color and the time of day also influences the colors of jigs I use.

I'm all for Match the Hatch but!!!!! Make it a little brighter than the hatch as well. Fire Tiger always works for me when they are feeding on yeller perch.

Agree Kdog but fire tiger colors are very similar to primary colors of perch. I think almost all other fish agree with us that perch are tasty.

Very seldom have I been fishing when colors doesn't matter. Seems one color will out fish others 95% of the times in the waters I fish. Find the right color combo for the day and you can fish most of the day with the same bait.
