That almost every trip is full of mayhem ? :beat-up:

Got a particular bud Ive been fishing with for 35 years now,and could write a book of our journey's over the years..Left keys,no plug, boat drifts off while setting up camp........

Hadnt been on the boat with him in close to three years now,but got a call last night to head to a private tank we have fished together probably a 100 times or more..Not big, maybe 25 acres, but some of the best crappie fishin Ive done..Dont usually bring in huge numbers, but the fish are all carbon copy slabs..

So sure Im game..

Left the house @ 4:30 am for a 2 1/2 hour trip..What do you know he's right on time...Nice drive down, and the lake is like glass when we arrive just after sun-up.

After an hour and half got 6 nicecrappie on the stringer, close to 40 buck bass, one right at 3 #,and more than I can count monster BG..

He say's lets head to the back of the creek...Opposite end of the tank, but "sure"......No sooner had we gotten there and the TM battery (without warning) gives its last gasp... :bang:
2 1/2 -3 mile hike back the the trucks, take the battery out of my truck,3 mile hike back......But the Bass Buster is moving ;)

Get back to the dock, replace my battery, used just enough juice, its a no go....Buddy says no problem,Ill just turn around and boost ya....Bad move #3..Suburban goes axle deep in sand..

Thought we could hear some equipment in the distance,, so time for another hike

Thank God for John Deere....

Tally for the day,,,5 hours drive,4 hour detour,1 1/2 hours of fishing...But Im going to savor every one of the 7 fish that came home with me... :cowboy:

Be happy to hook any of yall up with a partner if your trips get too routine......

Haha what a trip! I don't need his #! Well now that it's over it makes for great "Remember that time..."

Bout the worst I've done is lock keys in the truck while launching the boat at the ramp. Truck still running and 5 ticked off people waiting on me to get out of the way. Then a thunderstorm blew up.

We could switch buddies and have same stories. Mine watches me talkin smack, doyng nothing other than that, then when I lend a word and it turns around I get mouths full when his cork just needed tweaking.
Enjoy thegood eats and smile.

Funny Doc....Ive emailed him the tractor pic almost weekly since...Camouflaged it with different subjects every time... duel.gif

Yall never asked about the crappie with a hole in its head ? Thats the only other thing in the string of misadventures...Once we got back to the boat with a fresh battery,I pulled the stringer up,two fish were down to the jaw bones and nothing else, that one something had just started on,,,Turtles............ I Hopeicon_eek.gif

That, and my wallet was wet for a couple of days, but were not talking about that.....

That is a funny story when it wasn't you it happened too. Lol. Y'all know that Hunter flew down from MO to fish with me. We had a great trip up to Grenada for some slab crappie fishing. Well on our way home, I lost the Bearing Buddy off of one of my hubs on my boat trailer. About 60 miles later, after all of the grease had come out, I burnt up the bearings and scored the spindle pretty bad. I barely made it home with my boat but it is sitting in my yard on jack stands now with the axle removed. Hunter and I have been sitting in my camper watching movies on the VCR for two days now. Lol. At least we had the best fishing trip either of us had ever been on. It just goes to show that every trip can be an adventure but I wouldn't trade the time spent with friends for anything.
